Beginner to Advanced Flute Lessons

Experienced flute teacher providing flute, piccolo and low flute lessons out of her home in Merritt Island, FL. and teaching virtually on Zoom.

Shari Shaw received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Stetson University, where she studied with Dr. Jean West. Her other teachers include Shelley Warren, Lea Kibler, and Jane Clare. She has been a private flute and piccolo teacher for 38 years. She is a certified K-12 music teacher in the states of New Hampshire and Florida.

 

A native Floridian, Shari has played with various chamber groups, and for many musicals and events, including Into the Woods, Fiddler on the Roof, Chicago, Godspell, Little Me, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Peter Pan. She was also a soloist at the National Flute Convention in Washington DC. Her students have been accepted to District and All-State bands and ensembles, have received superior marks at Solo and Ensemble Festivals, and have become successful college students.

 

She now enjoys freelancing in the Space Coast area, performing with the Florida Flute Orchestra, Daytona State Flute Choir, Metropolitan Flute Orchestra, and is principal of the Space Coast Flute Orchestra. She also teaches flute, piccolo, and low flute lessons in her home studio on Merritt Island and virtually on Zoom.

 

Shari works with her flute, piccolo and low flute students on any music they would like to work on or are interested in, including band music, all-state music, solo and ensemble music, district music, college auditions, duets, ensembles, etc.  She works with their individual learning styles, and instructs in a positive and encouraging way.
